My Story

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Nakia Richardson. I was born in Chicago, IL, and moved to San Diego, CA in 2016 for college. I've been in Southern California ever since. 

As a young girl, I would internally squeal at the thought of going to a Scholastic Book Fair. I would beg my mom for money to buy up as many books as I wanted to read. In the summer, I often blew through books within a day. I would barely eat and drink, as I was so engulfed in the story I was reading. In college, I was exposed to market writing during the last semester of my senior year. Needless to say, the rest is history.

I love writing because it tells stories. It conveys emotions, provokes thought, and challenges the reader.

In December of 2020, I graduated with my B.A. in International Business with an emphasis in French & Western Europe. Wanting to take what I learned from school, I launched my portfolio and writing samples online. My dream is to grow into a role that allows me to display my writing, video-editing, and graphic/web design skills.

In my free time, I like to film and edit videos, travel around the world, write blog posts on a variety of topics, and play my flute. I speak fluent English, advanced French, and basic Spanish.
